Exploring the Distillery District

One of our personal favourite city gems in Toronto is the Distillery District. Born in 1832, the Distillery District has since become a go-to for not only tourists in the city but to city dwellers who want to simply get away to experience something other than the tall buildings. Surrounded by stunning architecture, the Distillery District offers a place to experience great food, art, shopping and coffee shops that will leave you coming back for more. Its historical charm makes it a must-see and a must-experience for anyone who has yet to visit this area.

Dressing for Events

We’re into the thick of event time here in Toronto and this means taking a severe look at your wardrobe. Dressing for events can be a tough task to plan for. There are so many things to take into account. What will the weather be like? How long will I be on my feet? What will everyone else be wearing and will I be over or underdressed.

Here are a few tips and tricks on planning your go-to outfit your upcoming summer events:

1) Weather: If you know in advance it’s going to be a scorcher, then it’s a good idea to wear something on the lighter side. Plan to wear natural fabrics that are breathable. Linen pants, for example, are a fabulous look for summer that will keep you cool and looking great!

2) Dressing for the occasion: If you know the event will have a crowd known for their attire, then you have to step it up a notch. Pull out all of the stops from jewels to heels (cufflinks if you’re a man). You want to be able to feel good about your outfit choice.

3) Fancy footwear: Make sure that if you’re planning on dancing the night away that you have appropriate footwear. Don’t necessarily sacrifice fashion for comfort but be sure to choose a shoe that won’t see you leave the party early because your feet are in pain.

4) Back-up outfits: You just never know when the worst can happen and that’s why I suggest always having a back-up outfit in case an unfortunate accident such as a spill or a tear occurs beforehand.
